Wanted to let all of you in MA know how wonderful you guys were!!!!!!! We just spent the most wonderful 8 days of our lives visiting this state!!!!!!!! Everyone we met was so wonderfully nice despite what some people on this forum say!!! We had several people offer us the use of there lake houses while there and to even go look at the decorations they had put up!!!! The festivities that you guys do are just amazing and the team spirit was so incredible!!! My son loved all of the pumpkin fields we ended up shipping pumpkins home!!!! ( shipping was over a hundred dollars but I would do it again just to see the joy on his face!!) The whole atmosphere and the way this state conserves the natural beauty of the history was indescribable I have never felt so safe and welcomed as I did there. The charm you get to live with everyday i am so jealous!!!! It was nice to visit somewhere where it was not a competition to see who could out do each other. Here in TX we get rid of as many trees as possible to build where as it seem in MA you build within the trees and keep them. It really is sad to come back!! I actually cried on the plane coming back because I felt I was home when there!!!!!!!!

P.S. the marshmallow fluff is amazing

Our first nights we stayed in Auburn and traveled the Mohawk Trail Mid week we stayed in Hyannis and traveled the Cape area After checking out of the hotel we went through Plymouth and ended our last nights in Salem but stayed in Woburn. We are definitely coming back!!! Maybe this time to stay!!!!! The homes are so unique I would much rather own a home here than the ones in TX a little higher priced but i think def. worth it. Call me an old sole but I like things with a history behind them.

TxBaker, I'm so glad you enjoyed yourselves! I thought of you yesterday and wondered how your trip was going. Thanks for letting us know. I always tell my kids that we get the privilege of living in a place so many spend time and money just to visit. And many, like you, would love to live! I'm glad we "cleaned up nice" for you!
Come back any time, to visit or to stay. All are welcome.

I think I'm recalling that you had a post a few weeks ago asking how the foliage would be during your visit. That hasn't been the greatest up until now. I'm thinking maybe it has to do with warmer than average weather through much of Sept. and Oct. Don't know, but too bad you missed the foliage the way it can be in late October. If you do decide on a more long-term stay, you'll see it another year, however. Glad you enjoyed your trip. Take care.
