There is a large rental complex right on the Walpole/Norwood line on Rt 1A that is actually in Norwood. I forget the name of it right now but a relative lived there for years and they did have a dog. The disadvantage would be the only private outdoor space you would have is a small enclosed courtyard.

That's Windsor Gardens or whatever they are calling themselves these days. I think they change their name so they won't be associated with the bad reviews that are on the net. Yes, some of the buildings do allow dogs.

You may want to check out the towns just outside of there like Westwood, Norwood, Canton, Sharon, Walpole and Medfield.
MassNative has it right--not Canton quite as much, but you would do well to target these towns. Holliston and Hopkinton are just too far and would make for a miserable commute.

Just be aware that NONE of these towns are going to be anything like any town in Maine. They will all be much more dense , with more traffic and just about more of everything. You will be hard pressed to find a Maine like town almost anywhere in Eastern Mass.

I am not saying that these places are bad because they are not. In fact they are all good places in their own right , just nothing like Maine at all.
