I am probably moving to MA and will want to have residency set so I can be eligible for MA Health Care.
I will be living at my friends apartment.
I guess these are my questions:

1) Living in a friend's apartment, how do I go about getting residency?
-Do I need just a note from him? What documents do I need?

2) What do I do to get residency?
-Do I need a driver's license, car registration, voter registration, and something else?
-OR do I need to have just one?

3) What is the timeframe? If I move in Monday, can I become a resident that week and apply for MA Health care immediately?

4) Suppose I move in AFTER July open enrollment. Would I still be eligible to enroll outside open enrollment given I just became a resident or should I move now?

A note from your friend should be all you need. Preferably on a cocktail napkin. Just don't use a crayon.

Look up MassHealth or Mass Health Connector on google.

I think you can call any of the 800 numbers on those sites to understand what specific kind of ID will be required to determine residency, if any. From what I understand your length of time in MA does not determine your residency, but most likely transferring you license to MA will be sufficient.

I believe you should be eligible. The cost will be scaled depending on income, I believe.

...

Healthcare for all, yay!

good luck!
