Billerica has never been considered a very good school system. It's not the worst one either. it's not a status town.

We will be renting in Tewksbury and by next year will be looking to buy a house, maybe in the same area, depending on how much we like the area. What is available for shopping, grocery stores, and entertainment in the area? I'm looking for a BJ's wholesale club but haven't been able to find one. THanks for any input! 11 more days!

Are you renting at Providence? I think it's the only apartment complex in town -- I know someone who's lived there for the last couple years and thinks it's alright. Much newer than most other places around here.

Sorry to say there's not much in Tewksbury, but you can drive 20 minutes and get whatever you need. The closest BJ's is probably in Stoneham at the junction of I-93 and I-95. For movie theatres, there's a big one in Lowell -- if you go I-495 to the Lowell Connector, it's right off the 1st exit. As for shopping, you can go to Rt-3 North to Nashua, NH and there's a very long strip of big box stores all along Daniel Webster Hwy (there's no sales tax in NH, so it's great if you're buying lots of stuff to furnish a new apartment). If you're looking for a mall so you can keep out of the cold, you can head on Rt-3 South to Burlington Mall.

Thanks Parsec! Good to know of the local shopping (even 20 min away). I grew up on the Cape and before the Cape Cod Mall became what it is now, there wasn't much to do and you had to drive 20-30 minutes in either direciton to get to a store.

We're headed up there Friday to register son at school. While up there, we're going to drive around and get familiar with the area.

Thanks again!
