I'm looking for recommended MA private schools, 4th grade through middle or h.s. offering more creative, flexible learning options than typical public schools. At first glance, Sudbury seems somewhat radical, but interesting. Not looking for religious based schools and budget is limited to under $12k. Research and experiences would be most appreciated!

I think that you will find that cheapest private schools are usually parochial schools.
Personally, I am not aware of any school in Eastern MA of non-religious type that is running below $12K, most often they start at around 14K plus.
However there are many that offer help/scholarship, and if you can work on that, you final cost might be under $12-10K.
If anyone has any info on cheaper alternatives, I would be interested to hear as well.

My kids go to Lexington Montessori school. We love it. About 20% of the students receive financial aid.

When we looked at different private schools we also applied to Belmont Day School and Lessley Ellis(sp?)…I also visited Waldorf school and it seemed very nice, just didn't fit our family.

Lexington Montessori actually has an open house either this weekend or next, don't remember…
