Hi. Looking at moving to Easthampton in a year or so. Would like to hear any thoughts people have about the city. We toured it briefly last year. Parts looked a little run down but otherwise it looked quite charming. Any things in particular I should know about the city? Looking on line I don't see much. Found an arrest of a crackhead in Easthampton, but otherwise looks pretty normal.

We are 55+ so the condos at E'Ton look very appealing and some appear to be designated 55+. They are condos but are basically townhouses, really two single family houses with a common wall. They come with two car garages. Any concerns about the community, the builder, the houses and the neighborhood? The condos are on Main Street, a bit south of South Street. Of course no units may be for sale when we are looking, but they look very promising. Location is here: https://goo.gl/maps/g95pz.

I have also looked online at some of the Easthampton condos. I am not which ones you mean or how well built they are, but I expect the neighbors over 55 would be quiet. My dad lived on Park Street for years, and we always found the town to be pleasant. People are loyal to their families and community, so I am not sure how easily a newcomer would fit in.

I remember an unexpected death on one of the main streets several years ago, but it was never explained as a homicide. Otherwise, it is pretty quiet.
