I'm relocating to the RI area and based on work will be able to live in either RI or MA but have no clue where to look to find a realtor who is knowledgable and can work on both sides of the state line and I very much want to consider housing options in both states.

Anyone have suggestions on where to look for a realtor who might fit the bill? In terms of location I'm thinking a 20 mile radius around the Woonsocket area so southern border around Franklin etc...

Before I was a real estate agent I lived down that way in Cumberland, RI for a brief time. When I was there I bought and sold a townhome and I used:

Martha Lapierre
Residential Properties
Phone: (401) 447-9966

I thought Martha did a good job although the real estate industry has changed a lot since then. The internet is far more prominent, etc but she was a nice lady and worked hard. She's also licensed in both states.

There is a agent in my office that is licensed in both states but she primarily deals with the Newport, Middletown areas of RI. where she used to live and on Cape Cod in MA.
The area that you are interested in is large, perhaps you could narrow it down with a bit more online research. You could have a look at Zillow and Trulia to get a feel for prices but remember they are just estimates. When you do find a interesting house try google earth and the street view. Also be sure to watch tax rates which can really vary town to town and add a lot to your mortgage.
Good luck in your search.

Consumers seem to love Trulia, and Zillow as well, but realtor.com is still the most accurate of the three. If you prefer to use zillow though, by all means, don't even look at the infamous 'zestimate' that is attached to every property. It's a number that is calculated from a flawed formula, and has no basis in reality.
