My son wants to go down to the cape to hang out with his buddies next week, I will be in Houston due to work and my wife will be working all week/dealing with my younger daughter. Therefore she will have no time to drive him. My sons friends are already down there so carpool is not an option. He is only 15 so he can not drive. Is there any way using public transportation (not just MBTA) that he could get anywhere in the cape?

Thanks!

Commuter rail to South Station. Pick up the Plymouth and Brockton bus from there. It can take you as far as Provincetown. I did this in '98 when I was working in the area and didn't have a car. It will get you there, but it can be pretty slow.

He can get to the Cape by train or by bus as mentioned above. I always see the CCRTA buses all around the Cape, so you can have him look up the schedule to see if the bus takes him to where he wants to go.

Have him take the Cape Flyer to Hyannis. Personally, I wouldn't want my 15-year-old to ride the Plymouth and Brockton bus alone, but of course I don't mean to imply that he'd necessarily be safe on the train, either.
