Burlington could be a viable fall-back since it's right next to Billerica. Away from the "mall sprawl" there are nice quiet neighborhoods along winding streets, with relatively affordable homes. There's also a notable Indian community there - at least in certain apartment complexes - so there's a degree of diversity present.

Trivia: Littleton is the only town in Massachusetts with a separate "center" and "common."

True, and neither one is all that amazing. Littleton was all farms and never was a walkable quaint etc. center. The old center might have been a bit, when the train was running (the depot now a storage area for vintage wood stoves being rebuilt). The common was ruined by highway building, although it's better than nothing. I think there used to be more buildings around the common (hotel, etc.) but they burned down. I think Littleton's charm is really in its village feeling, which, to me, is more spread out than a center or common.

The Littleton center area was getting more activity during the dotcom boom when several businesses moved in. Perhaps with the recent trends of businesses returning to the suburbs, it will be more occupied again.

thank you all for your time and feedback. We saw the Bedford one and were quite disappointed, seeing a couple more in westford and Littleton this week and finalize by the weekend.

Ramaka, You might consider looking at Village of Nagog Woods condos. They're beeautiful, contemporary right off 2a on the Acton/Littleton line, and the schools are Acton excellent. As convenient as Littleton and Westford and very nice. Best wishes.

I hope you find something you really really like. I live a few miles from Village at Nagog Woods. If you'd like to meet up for coffee or something after the showing, please feel free to DM me. At any rate, I look forward to hearing what you think of those condos and where you end up living.

Isn't there a new shopping center a la Marketplace in Lynnfield going up in Littleton?

Hi brightdoglover, we saw a single family house in westford that met all our needs ( good schools, lawn space for the kid to play, kind of secluded and a pool as a bonus)...it's a older house (1972 built), but updated nicely and our offer was accepted 😄..so if everything else falls in place we should be moving into our first home by Thanksgiving weekend. Thanks again for all your time and help.
