I am moving to the Hyannis area for a job near Cape Cod Hospital.
I am a single guy with cats. Will be making 55k in new job. What is the apartment/rental situation? How do I get in cheap? Is Hyannis a really bad place as it seems on here or is that only relative to Cape Cod? I'd like somewhere walkable.
Thanks for any help,
Rolf

What's your definition of "cheap"?

With pets, it's not easy.

Look on Craigslist in Centerville. There are some cute apts in your price range and a good location for your job. Good luck.

Craigslist isn't coming up with much for Centerville.

67 Sea Street - Hyannis - has apts in your price range. They are known to accept cats. However, if they have any vacancies is a different story. Off street parking.

Most of the ads you see for apts under $1000 are either 55+ senior units or "Affordable Housing" units.. for which you make too much money.

Mid-Cape is a tough place to find an apartment. Heck.. 20 years ago when I worked in Hyannis it was tough. Two girls in the office shared at Sea Street back then.. and they paid $610.

I would just buy a house that is the cheaper way to go. Renting out has gotten to be to pricey here on Cape Cod Especially Hyannis.
