Has anyone else noticed that we are getting a little snowstorm?

I don't even know what date to give to it because they said on tv that it's today, tomorrow and ending on Wed. Officially it started Monday at 7pm so we are now in it.

Coastal erosion will definitely occur with the high tide at 4am (I think) which is also supposed to be when the storm has become really strong.

Today I returned from Florida. How dumb. Anybody else interested in discussing the storm (not discussing how dumb I was to come back home, LOL.)

Fingers crossed, the weather people have exaggerated this event.

A lot of media hype for something most of us have been through many times before, don't ya think?

In 1978 I lived right in Boston and went through the worst blizzard of all. My god it was horrendous. Every bit of the snow was the wet heavy type. Nothing moved for like 5 days. The National Guard cleared my street with a bulldozer.

If this storm is anything like the blizzard of 78 we are in deep trouble.

"Potentially historic" yakyakyak - every winter we get one or three of these. I like getting days off from the office though, because we live in the age of snow hype - Weather Channel giving them names raises the hype to almost hurricane hysteria (luckily less destructive) - and it seems to be becoming more common to cancel schools and close down days in advance at first hint of any accumulation. This is a standard Buffalo snowfall and they seem to get on just fine until it reaches about the six-foot mark.

It's all just a conspiracy by Weather Channel and Artie T to drive TV ratings and grocery sales. He's got some cousins to pay off!

Exactly what my elderly neighbor who braved the 1978 blizzard said this noon. I hope all the homeless are in a warm and safe place. Be safe y'all!

I've taken to calling it "The Storm of the Century of the Year"

I am impressed how well the storms are handled here. No matter how much snow we get the day after everything seems to be cleared and everyone back to work. Hopefully they do it again tomorrow.

About 2% of everything the weather forecasters say is the truth about 20% of the time. lol

I'll be interested to see how this all turns out. We did have a pretty bad storm about 2 years ago that shut things down for a day or two. That was a mess. I also remember a pretty big storm about 2003. That was a serious mess. The wind blew snow drifts to 5 feet high. It was something else. In 1978, I was too young to remember the storm. My point is . . . every once in a while they do get it right. I'd rather stay home for a day then end up snowed into my car on I95.
