If you paid someone to plow, how much was the charge and are you paying per plow, per snow event, per X inches, or paid for a plowing service for the entire winter, etc.?

Also, anyone had any property damage?

No snow damage. I guess it will cost $80 (2 passes at $40 each). We had at least 30 inches.

I'm on a contract for the whole winter: $50 for up to 6", $25 per 3" after that. We got 33" here in Sudbury so the bill came out to $275.

Driveway only, no walkways. 275 foot driveway plus a 2500 sf turnaround/parking pad at the top. I still had to dig out 4-6 feet of packed snow from the plow along my walls and garage doors myself. Is anyone actually happy with their plow service? Please PM me!

Cost me almost nothing. No damage of any kind, thankfully. Having my older kids, and their friends helping our neighbors as well--priceless. Babies and toddlers are lot of work, but later, man, it all pays off. We had very nice, smooth day, considering circumstances.

Cost nothing except two days of cabin fever and going out shovelling seven times through the storm. We believe in the frequent and relatively light shovelling method. No kids so no free slave labor to count on. Also, did not have plow service because we were always "going to buy that snow blower this summer" and never did....so just us and four very good shovels. We have a very long driveway, so we just move the cars up front closer to the street and shovel out a path from the car to the back door of the house. Thank heavens we all had power through this crap. I hate having no electricity!

Even for an affluent town like Sudbury that sounds ridiculous.

I have a few friends who plow here in the Lynnfield area and most charge $40 each time they come, regardless of snow depth. Maybe for your longer than average driveway it would be $60. For this storm they probably would have come twice, so $80 or $120.

It cost me $35 for the plow guy to clear the 30+inches of snow here in Westford, MA. Had to call the plow guy, since my snow blower decided to quit working.

Will probably cost around $35 splitting a plow and snowblower with my roommate and downstairs neighbors. The plow was supposed to come this morning and hasn't showed up, so we're all getting a little nervous! There is a pile of snow taller than my head at the end of the driveway that is at least 5 feet wide, thanks to the City of Medford plows and our neighbors snowblowing all of their snow across the street.

For most storms the price is okay. Between 6-12" will be $50-100 and they come twice. It's the blizzards that really cost an arm and a leg. I should re-read my contract and see if there is a price cap for a single snowstorm because $275 does sound expensive now that I think about it.

For some reason I was always under the impression you can't call a plow for a single snowstorm and it was required to sign a seasonal contract. I could clear the driveway myself most days. It's just the days where it snows a foot while I'm at work when I need the plow to come so I can pull into my garage without thinking. I'll probably cancel my contract after this season and look into that app, thanks!
