Not at all. Because I've been south during the summer and I'll take this over summer heat and humidity in Florida any day.

I was just thinking about posting this same thing!

All I hear is people talking about moving to a warmer climate. These storms have been ridiculous.

I would love to move, but thinking about it and making it happen are two different things. It takes a lot to uproot and start over. It can be done though

The reason for the Question is i'm on the Florida forum quite a bit as i grew up there
(St Pete)and it seems every second topic is some one from the north looking to move south because they dont like the cold, i was just wondering how prevalent this attitude is.
I'm with beachcomber, i'll take a couple of months of the cold and snow of the northeast (Montreal)rather than 8-9 months of Floridas unrelenting heat and humidity.

I'm from MA, but lived in southern California for four years. I'm hoping to relocate back to NYC (where I've also lived). However, after this storm I'm almost considering LA instead lol.

We relocated because of weather. We moved to FL and stayed for 5 years then returned to New England and promised ourselves never to move for weather again. The Florida heat, the Florida politics, there is a lot to miss about New England. Now we snowbird but not for the whole winter. There's beauty in winter just not so much snow, please.

The snow and winter weather does not bother me as a resident of New Hampshire or Maine. However the winter weather did drive me away from Massachusetts. If that sounds odd it is because the cold, ice and snow do not bother me at all; what bothers me is the effect of accumulating snow on an already space constrained environment (a.k.a. eastern Massachusetts). As a current resident of New Hampshire the weather will not make me move south but if I was still in MA I probably would strongly consider moving south.

Absolutely! People can't get away with stereotyping the entire south anymore. I believe Atlanta is 50% transplants from the northeast and great lakes areas.

Atlanta is starting to build their "Beltline" which is supposed to be their version of Boston's never built "Urban Ring." I haven't been there since 2001 but it is supposedly becoming more balanced in the transportation arena albeit somewhat slowly.

I remember when I moved here many years ago, the croci would appear in early February and there were many more livable days.

The weather pattern seems to be getting worse every year.
This is a concern of mine. I like the cold 20F-50F but I do not like these arctic blasts. Soon it will be as if New England's name should be changed New Alaska.
