Hi All,

Does anybody have any idea about optimum way to reach newton via public transport from Norwood.

MBTA site shows catch the commuter rail to south station and from the there take bus to Newton which doesn't seems very nice option to me.

Any other idea? please advise.

My boyfriend has the reverse commute. He goes from Newton to Norwood every day. Driving is the only practical way timewise. There is no direct public transportation route from Norwood. But if you can get to the Dedham Mall on Rte. 1 and leave your car there, there is a public bus that goes between there and the Watertown bus depot. It will cross Newton Center and Newton Four Corners along the way. It's the number 52 bus.

MBTA > Schedules & Maps > Bus > 52 - Dedham Mall or Charles River Loop - Watertown Yard via Oak Hill & Newton Center

take the CR to Back Bay

exit the station and walk down to Copley

take the outbound green "D" line train to various parts of Newton

of course, it depends on where in Norwood and where in Newton you're coming from/going to, but that seems to be the easiest and quickest way, though the #52 route miu posted could be an option (though make sure you check the schedule b/c I know that buses that claim to stop at the mall don't always do so at certain times, leaving you stranded)
