For what it is worth. Great schools, and laid-back atmosphere are usually mutual exclusive. It is a unicorn.

You can provide laid-back, and "down to earth" at home. You can also never anticipate, and project your young kids interests. They are their own people. And they will surprise you down the road.

I would concentrate on the best town, the best location and house your money can buy, and go from there. Everything else is just a noise.

I do like Cohasset and Hingham for quality of living, and good resale values. Norfolk would suit you as well.
if you decide to expand to other areas: Arlington would suit you excellent.

Good luck.

Ummmm, the Southeast Expressway is a clusterf*** during rush hour. Encouraging more people to drive is not a good idea. Parking?

Or maybe the state can actually make infrastructure improvements.

Just curious, is that parochial HS in Brockton Cardinal Spellman High School by any chance? lol..

If so, I was class of '01

Jellybean, by the way, where do you hail from? Local?

Looks like Milton too has its share of backyard farmers.

There are some communities that are a "right to farm" that block attempts to kick them out. Where I lived there were some farms but gradually land values rose and crop values didn't. Cranberries for example skyrocketed in the late 90's and then dropped.
