Actually, any trip to Government Center will take you more than a year!

Yes technically the Government Center stop is under construction, using Haymarket, North Station or State Street to represent the Government Center area, the intent of my post stands.

Agreed. Many CR pass holders are far flung suburbanites who take the CR probably because it is faster than driving on the congested highways during rush hour. On weekends they most likely will drive to do errands instead, not that there is all that much service to ride out in the outer suburbs.
If you feel that you're paying for rides you're not taking, then just pay per ride instead of buying a monthly pass.

I was in north station at 630 am on Friday and the idiots at keolis were handing out coupons that included a free iced coffee at McDonald's at north station. So myself and 4 others get in line to get said free Ice coffee only to find out it is not valid until 8am and only to 10am. Mind you there was very fine print that said it but why hand them out at 630am?

Seemed to me that people did take advantage of the free fare on Friday. I have a monthly pass so it didn't affect me, other than making things WORSE. The train was more packed than usual and...get this...there were one hr delays on some trains! Ha, great job MBTA, give a free day and then there are delays because of it! Pure awesomeness.

What the husband hates is people, crowds, and traffic. So I guess his hatred is not specific to just Boston, but cities in general due to the people, crowds, traffic.
