Hello All,
my family will be moving to MA soon for a new job in Brockton. Will be sharing work time between Brockton and Springfield.
Currently focusing on looking in Wrentham, Easton and Attleboro.
Any feedback on these areas? 2 young kids so priorities are good public schools and family activites. Want to be close to the schools, shopping, YMCA's, etc.
Any feedback could be appreciated. Thanks!!!

The schools aren't good in Attleboro so I'd rule that out if I could afford better. Easton would be a good choice if you were just commuting to Brockton but since you want access to the turnpike for the commute to Springfield, that wouldn't be very convenient.

I guess you'd want to be somewhere along Rte. 495, so somewhere like Wrentham or Franklin might work.

How much do you want to spend?

Sorry for the deleted message. Wanted to make edits and ended up deleting by mistake.

I agree with CaseyB that Attleboro isn't great, but North Attleboro is better so you could always keep that in mind. Franklin just built a new high school and has a good school system.

Check your drive times though. As the crow flies, being along 495 may seem closer, but 495 is kind of a big half circle and takes a while to get to the turnpike from that area close to Brockton.

Would like to spend under $500k but could stretch to $550k. Work commute isn't the largest concern, would commute to Brockton office 3 days and Springfield twice. Originally focused on Wrenthem but based on inventory available, it appeared Attleboro had more options. Easton seemed okay. So I am gathering I should focus in this order:
Wrentham
Franklin
Easton
North Attleboro
....?
Thanks so much!!

You could check Foxborough, too. See if there's anything available there.

Consider Mansfield, too. You could probably consider Sharon if schools are a top priority. Commute to Beockton would be fine but commute to Springfield would be pretty awful.

You're the second poster in the last few days who's commuting to both Eatern Massachisetts and Springfield. Brockton and Springfield are not that close. I hope you are being correctly compensated for what is a pretty unfair commute.

Shocking how little 500-550k get you in Sharon...

Coming from Cols OH (nice suburb) where I sold a 2 year old 4000 sq foot house for 400k...
WOW...

Yeah, I noticed that, too. Terrible commute, although I guess if he stays close to 495, it's all highway.

NOT Avon, Stoughton or Holbrook.

Poor schools and high property taxes.

If you think Sharon is unaffordable be glad you aren't trying to buy in Newton or Wellesley. Sharon is affordable compared to cities and towns closer to Boston with similarly ranked schools. I really hope it's a good job because Boston is expensive and your commute is going to be terrible.

Looking at Google Maps the fastest route without traffic between Brockton and Springfield is 90-95-93-24, although you'll be fighting heavier traffic and higher prices living on that route.
