We will be staying near Danvers and visiting the Boston downtown area in July and August. We were hoping to visit parts of the Freedom Trail such as the Boston Common Area, Granary Burying Ground , the Paul Revere House and Old North Church. Also perhaps taking a harbor tour.
What would be the best procedure, drive into Boston and park (if so, the best place to park without a tremendously high parking fee). Or would a better procedure be to drive from Danvers to a location providing transportation into the areas mentioned(if so, what location and mode of transportation please). Thank you for assisting.

I usually drive into Boston and park in the Channelside lot in South Boston on A Street. The weekend rate is $5.00.
