My house goes down to 61F naturally, so yes, I gave in and turned on the heat to 63. Furnace only runs 1x per day for the last 2 days. I let the temp drop at night as my blankets keep me warm, but I need to take the chill off once I'm up.

My wife insisted that we turn on the heat. We woke up one morning at least a week ago and it was in the 60's in the house and that was it. We have small children in the house and they're more sensitive to the cold than I am. My wife always seems to be cold so she's been asking to turn on the heat since June.

A funny thread.

I was a hold out until Oct 1 and now it is on but a sweater and extra blanket is still required.
We had a small fire in the wood stove the other night.

The good news is the price of oil is down compared to last year. We heard this morning it is $1.89 per gallon.

November 1st... at the earliest!

Hooded sweatshirts work great.

I tell my kids that turning on the heat is like lighting dollar bills on fire.

Wow. I’m really surprised at all the pansies here. I’m not even close to turning it on. Matter of fact, I’m thoroughly enjoying the cooler weather. My wife mentioned turning the heat on and I was flabbergasted.

I’m having a grand ol’ time with this weather. But I think my place retains more heat than most of your places.

Mine came on three days ago....no sense in suffering when money is just money, but health and comfort are everything.

Wow all these people already using their heat. I won't flip that switch till I wake up my house is below 55. Right now the lowest it has been is 64.

Holding out until we can't stand it any longer. Last year IIRC we broke down around Halloween. It's about 20 degrees colder in our house than outside so it's hoodies, sweatshirts, and an extra blanket on the bed.
