I think that taking out an old and putting in new one cost my neighbor around $1500, give or take, last year.

Good luck.

Oops! Just noticed the "replace" part. I was quoting just the removal. I paid $275 last year when we converted to gas. Ours was a very easy removal and we have a walkout basement so no stairs to deal with.

I replaced a 50-year-old tank and had a new one put in about two years ago. Cost me $1500.

A friend/client had this done in Natick about 5 years back. I recall they paid around $1700.

$2k sounds about right. I know of a case where this was done recently for about $2,200, was a few hundred more to get the vertical style Roth tank.
