What do you love and where do you get? I used to like Henry's in Beverly but not a fan now.

Blake's frozen chicken pot pies are available in the grocery store and they are all natural. We keep a few on hand for those cold winter nights when no one wants to cook. Delicious! AND if you like crust, they have both the top and bottom crust. You can even buy plain chicken pies if you don't want to eat your vegetables.

Henry's is my favorite. I have been getting them for several years and haven't noticed a change. I don't like the crust on Harrows' pies. I've heard great things about Ken's in general. There are locations in Salem and Lynn.

Cwaggy, I just looked again and you were talking about now--sorry if I took your thread off-topic. But years ago there was a poultry farm in Stoughton near Our Lady of the Rosary Church (across the street and near to the border with Brockton) that sold the best turkey and (possibly?) chicken pies I have ever had. It was closer to Brockton than the adjoining Garden Shop. The pies were perfect, turkey and broth and pastry and no overcooked vegetables. We made our own sides for that dish.

Goodness, I miss my birthplace. You can't take it out or even dress it up, but Stoughton was never bland and never like anyplace else. When I think of Stoughton in the 1970s, I think of the rearing stallion lawn ornament that was right next to the poultry store in an adjacent store that sold plants and statues. My mom was very pious but not prissy and she would just laugh when we had to drive under the stallion to purchase pot pies at the business next store.

Being from Stoughton, I will lay a bet that no one still standing remembers these stores, but I hope I lose the bet. "Tilly's" I think was the name of the vaguely risque lawn ornament store. I cannot remember the name of the turkey farm. That is the best poultry I have ever tasted--fresh, unfussy, unprocessed, and local.

Oprah Winfrey said it was Centerville Pie Company.

But I say Marion's Pie Shop in Chatham. Lines out the door all summer and busy enough that they stay open year round.
