Just wondering how the commute from Concord, MA to Foxboro is. Does the 42 minutes on google maps turn into an hour and a half with traffic EVERY time?
I've done the commute on 128 to Waltham from southern, NH before for a contract job and 128 seemed like a cruel joke.
Basically...is it a manageable commute that doesn't make you want to go insane?

What's manageable to you? It's going to be over an hour and longer in bad weather.
Even if you do enjoy stretches of time with excellent hour-long commutes, something's going to change - some portion of MA2 or MA128 is going to repaved someday, or some other construction will pour extra volume onto your route. You've got to work, and if the best job is in Foxboro, well, it is what it is, but we moved from Salem to Burlington due to a commute to Cambridge. YMMV.

The problem is there is no good way to get from Concord to Foxboro, so yes it's going to take a while.

The worst of that is now - the Route 2 bridges over 128 are being replaced, and the 128 add-a-lane project from Route 9 to 109 is wrapping up. 95 between 128 and Foxboro was recently resurfaced. The Canton Interchange project, when/if that happens, might cause some trouble, but there are a number of local road alternatives if it does. Route 1 in the off-peak direction between Dedham and Foxboro is free-flowing.
Famous last words. Does anyone know the condition of the Mass Pike bridges over MA 128? Could you imagine what'll be if they have to remediate or otherwise somehow rejigger that clusterleaf?
No kidding. Under the best of circumstances the commute from Concord is an hour each way. There are no quick direct routes. There shouldn't be much traffic but it's still a long ride. And you are right, every construction project is a bigger mess than it should be and it's one after another.

That does sound like a cruel joke, but luckily this commute isn't as bad. There is really no traffic once you get past the Waltham/Mass Pike stretch. Like others have said, 1 hour is about right most days but you will need to budget more time if there's an accident, snow, or even rain. I've done part of that commute (Natick at Rt-9 down to 1A) and it was a reverse commute going down 27 South except for a little snag at Natick center. From Concord going down Rt-126 to 27 to 115 is probably more predictable than taking the highway, but will be slightly longer on a typical day (I'm estimating just over an hour). Do you live in Concord right now? If you are really worried, try the commute a couple days to see what it's like.
Figure on at least one hour if no accidents or bad weather or construction. I am going off my memories of traffic there from the 1980s, when there were fewer people and stores.

All the traffic on that section of 128 is headed toward the MA Pike at that house. So once you're south of the MA Pike all the traffic is on the other side of the highway.
