Is there any good place to park by Broadway in Somerville? In particular I'm talking about the Ball Street Café at 708 Broadway on a Thursday morning/afternoon.

I read there was metered parking along the way, but don't know how reliable that is. For instance, I could see all those metered spots getting taken up, which wouldn't be good.

Thanks in advance for any help!

Assume you mean Ball Sq. Cafe. Plenty of metered spots there on Broadway, shouldn't have to look too hard at that time.

If the meters are full, which is unlikely, there is unmetered marking (2hrs) just a couple of blocks down by Powderhouse Sq

Yup, if there's nothing on Broadway then keep going around the rotary and drive up Powderhouse Blvd right next to Tufts. There should be parking on the right by the field. Timberline, do you know if that's resident only parking if it's unmetered? I always forget, but I've never had a problem on the weekends over there.

Permit parking only, except Sunday on that part of Powderhouse close to the rotary.

Thanks for the clarification. I retract the bad advice given by timberline and me.

I think Timberline was referring to Broadway just before the rotary, where there are indeed unmetered 2hr spots. Once you round the rotary and make your way on to Powderhouse it becomes permit only.

There is non resident (open to everyone) parking that is unmetered in Powderhouse Sq, for 2 hrs.

There's even better parking that is unmetered and untimed I remembered. It's the one that's a left turn at the lights just after the Cafe if you're coming from Powderhouse Sq.

I ended up using that this morning and have used it before. I had no idea that Cafe was in that same area though, which is why I made this thread.

It worked out though and I had some lovely French toast.
