Starbucks coffee isn't burnt; it's just stronger. You can add hot water to it to make it weaker (or use fewer beans while you are brewing) - either way works and doesn't affect the quality.

Burned, like it's been sitting on the warmer too long.

Quebrada in Wellesley in has excellent coffee ($2.25) if you're ever in the area - it's right off route nine. Whole Foods coffee is pretty good, too; the espresso is a surprisingly good deal.

Interesting! I've never had their coffee before. However, their chocolate croissant is absolutely the best one I've ever had.

I don't understand why so many people try to compare the price of a Starbucks latte to a Dunkin drip coffee.
Spot on chap. Spot on

I prefer their almond croissants, but you really can't go wrong with anything from there.

Angry Coffee-drinking customers

Bostonians seem to like their "coffee" by the quart, watered down, and piping hot; coffee shops serve to these less than sophisticated tastes. Good coffee shops like Blue Bottle, Kaffeine, Intelligentsia, etc. will not survive here - no demand . Peet's is as good as one can find in Boston, and there are not too many of those.

I think you are correct. DD & SB are tied in the poll. The coffee basically costs the same. But every time I go to DD I witness some jabroni order a large hot coffee, 7 sugars. Or 7 creams. Or BOTH. my teeth rot in my head and I gag & walk out. These ppl aren't there for the coffee. Today I ordered a DD black hot coffee. It was so bitter, acidic, and nasty. It's only place on my way to I95
