Hello,

I've been living in Weymouth MA for the past 7 months and my girlfriend recently moved up here as well. We came from Florida and I now work near the Quincy area and she works in Fall River MA. Obviously that's a rather large disparity in distance commute wise. Our lease does not expire till next September, but we are looking to be nearer to 24/ more direct access to interstates. We would like to near shopping centers/convinces/commuter rail if at all possible for access to the city. Rent wise we are looking at at between 1700-1950.00, both of us are in our mid twenties.

I look forward to your suggestions!

Thank you.

A good halfway point would be Bridgewater. There is a commuter rail stop on the BSU campus. Shopping would be in nearby Taunton. As far as your budget you should have no trouble finding something nice in that area.

Thank you for the reply...is that a pretty lively area...no comparison to Boston, but are there things to do in that area?

Thanks!

Not so much unfortunately. I mean right around the BSU campus there are bars geared towards the college students. And Taunton is not too far, not sure how lively it is but I'm assuming a lot more than Bridgewater. There are definitely not a lot of happening towns off of Rt24.

I would not call the Mansfield area lively. You do have Patriot Place in Foxboro which is a place for shopping, restaurants, etc so that's nice to have close by. There is the Xfinity center for concerts but that's not a frequent thing I'd guess.

Mansfield is not "lively" per se, but it is closer to many more amenities and entertainment/restaurant options (in nearby Foxboro and Attleboro) than Bridgewater. There is a commuter rail stop in town, but I didn't initially suggest it because it is not off Rt24

There's plenty of shopping in Mansfield itself near 495. But you're right, it's not a place that would be interesting to a single person in their 20's.

What? I used to live in Mansfield. wasn't so bad. Nothing like going out to the city, and then coming home to quiet! There was always a small bar to go to. Some people like that kind of social life....Only thing, just like anywhere, people start getting into your business. You sound pretty serious if you girl moved up here. That in and of itself should be applauded. I was trying to smooze every single woman I met in my twenties. As long as you are willing to "commute" to see friends and they are will to 'commute" to see you, you will appreciate the quiet. Best bet, Raynham
