my Unemployment benefits will run out in a few weeks, and I have not found a new job. I have networked, applied to numerous jobs, contacted consulting agencies, ALL to no avail. If I understand correctly my benefits will automatically extend based on a calculation that basically makes certain my original benefits do not exceed my previous annual salary?? (not convinced I really get it) Who initiates the calculation and how do I know if I officially qualify?

Is this accurate:
To qualify for EUC in MA, you need any one of the following:

20 weeks of covered employment - or
TOTAL Base wages in excess of 40x weekly benefit (40x$564), or $22,560 - or
TOTAL Base wages in excess of 1.5x high quarter wages - or $22,005 (if $14,670 is your high quarter).
Due to the sequester, your EUC weekly benefit will be reduced 12.8% to $492, per this:

i made 37,500 / quarter from my employer. With UE I am collecting 564 per week since August

Do I qualify for an extension? If so, for how long?

Thank you so much, in advance!

Hello!
I worked for my last employer for 15 years. I lost my job due to a restructuring and I never thought I would be in this position.
I have a similar problem and my benefits or ran out this week. Several people and online research said it would extend automatically however that is not the case. I've called the unemployment office and have been disconnect due to a high call volume. Even at 8:30 AM, when I am certain I'm one of the first callers and I've been told, by an automated system, to call the next business day. I can't get any answers about how to get extension by phone or online.
Have you had any luck with your extension for filing for one?????
