Maybe my example is a little off, but my point was the passing of parents and selling of their paid off homes usually gives the surviving children an opportunity to upgrade their home by now having a larger down payment due to this inherited money, and hopefully some positive equity growth in their current home they have been in for x number of years.

I know I personally know of at least 3 families who did such a thing after the passing of a parent. Usually it was due to needing more space due to the kids being teenagers.

Here in Central Mass it is definitely a SELLERS market due to low inventory.

I understand. My point was that it would be unfortunate for someone who has been in a starter home for only 3-6 years (age 30-40 I presume) to lose both parents who I would presume to be 55-70 years of age. I bought my house 1 week before my 30th birthday and my parents were in the late 50's.

I figure when my parents go, I'll be using any money from their retirement home (they already sold the big house) to pay off my kid's education.

True. That's a rather unfortunate set of circumstances for anyone to be in.

I did not have kids til mid 30's, so by the time my children hit the 40ish age, i'll be in my mid 70's. Hopefully I'm still around by then.

That's awful! I stay away from making those types of calls. I just don't think they are appropriate.

It updated the quickest, had all the info the MLS listing had, and had a lot of useful info (at least to me) that the others didn't.

In the end, I found my home via a Redfin push alert that came up on my phone.
A lot of my clients like to use the Redfin site and app. It's definitely better than Zillow and better than my RE brokerage and agent sites. Too many agents/brokerages still think we're in the business of hording information. Still, my clients who use the Redfin site come to me when they see a property they like. The site is great, the agents are another story . . .

That's disgusting. These are the kind of people who give our industry a bad name.

Default calling day of a funeral

Their actions speak volumes on how they conduct business.

It certainly did. We took the contact information of everyone that called and put them on a blacklist.

I hope you shared the list with everyone you know.

This kind of behavior is completely unacceptable.
