I think we've discussed this before but I am currently trying to do something new.

So not based on square feet of your house- I'm curious how much time your cleaner (or cleaners, and how many) spend there and what you pay. I'd like to know the hourly rate.

$90, 5 people, 1 hr = $18 per manhour
They clean as much as they can in 1 hour, so the quality of the cleaning varies based on how clean the house was to begin with. Springmom - You asked the right question this time. It's the labor rate per manhour that you're really looking for if you want to compare prices.

I am paying $33/hr and I think it's a little much. We pay one person $100 (monthly. lowered from biweekly when we had a 3rd kid and moved to save. ) and she leaves after 3 hrs as soon as she finishes a surface clean. I want to ask her if she will do a weekly clean for 4 hrs for $100. And ask her if after she does a surface clean, to either organize the cabinets, clean out the fridge or do laundry. (alternate those things.)

Maybe even 4.5 hrs would be fair for $100 based on what I'm seeing here. I will give her first dibs on that set-up and I guess if she isn't into it, I will look for someone else. It would really help us big time to have someone do laundry and organize, but I think $33/hr for it is a little steep.

$135, one person, 4 hours (so a smidgen over $33/hour). She brings her own equipment/products. Surface cleaning unless I ask her to do otherwise. When I got quotes a year ago, they ranged from $110 - $150. House is 3,100 square feet and she cleans every other week.
