My best friend (who is an atheist) lives in Sharon. She and her husband love it there. Their children did well in the local schools and had very happy childhoods. They love the town but now that their children are in college they are thinking of a move, due to the very high property taxes.
I have fond memories of the town from my childhood in Stoughton, an adjoining town. Sharon has a wonderful lake, shady streets, and a lovely little library.
It's somewhere in between the fancy-dancy suburbs such as Weston and places like my beloved but raffish hometown. With children of school-age, the taxes may be a great investment. I don't know anyone who lives in Canton (or anything, good or bad, about the schools). It's in a lot of ways a really nice little town, too.
