Gee, had no idea about Clinton's being so safe. I know nothing about it and thought it may be undesirable in some way. Silly me.

Surprised Shrewsbury, so close to Worcester, is on the list, though I know it's a fine community.

Hmmm...no Wellesley, Needham, Dover, Lincoln, Cohasset, Scituate, Concord, Lexington, Belmont or Winchester. No Westwood? (my brother lives there and it's supposed to be desirable). No Rockport, Marblehead or Ipswich? Yes, I realize they can't just list MA towns.

Oh...and no Newton? Going back 15 years or so, haven't they often been first or second along with the Buffalo suburb of Amherst?

Maybe Newton is getting dinged for all the vehicular assaults happening lately.

Pretty boring list if you don't like the northeast.

Some of the towns you listed probably have more property crime due to having a real downtown area which draws out of town visitors (e.g. Wellesley, Lexington) and some of the shore towns have more crime due to all the visitors they have passing through. Newton is pretty safe for a city with such a large population, but it has more petty crime than your typical small New England town. I think most of the towns on this list are quiet, out of the way places that no one would go to unless they live there or were visiting family.

Yah Clinton surprises me, it seems very working class town to me. It seems like for most other towns wealth is correlated to crime rates, Clinton must be the exception.

Newton is one of the safest cities in America. They judge it in a different category, because of population I believe.

Those towns are literally in the middle of nowhere, so criminals are too lazy to get there.

Especially Weston, being right at the junction of the Mass Pike and 128. Must be why the criminals come to rural Maine instead.
