They deserved to lose. I don't feel bad for them.

Would have been nice for Papi to go out on top.

I was sad to see it end that way -- I really thought they were going to come back at the end. I was very much hoping they'd play the Cubs.

Eh, I haven't been a red sox fan in years. Football, basketball and hockey have my attention. Baseball? Haven't watched a game in 2-3 years now. I didn't even know the sox were in the playoffs til the alert that they lost came on my phone.

F them. I hope the next 109 years go better.

I was rooting for Tito. The way the sox brass threw him and tarnished him when he left was unconscionable, I wanted him to win so he could give a proverbial middle finger to the ownership.

I have a lot of friends who live in Chicago and they're all Cubs fans. I'm very excited for them but I'm also a little bit sad for them because I know things are about to change if the team stays competitive and there's no reason I can see why they wouldn't be.

2004 was absolutely one of my top sports memories in my life. However, being a Sox fan pre-'04 and post-'04 are two very different things. Before that, the fan base was really die hard. You had to be . . . they never won! We suffered through a lot of disappointment year in and year out but there was always next year. After the win in '04 and it increased with the subsequent years they won it all, the fan base became over run with (as they like to say on sports talk radio) "pink hats" a/k/a band wagon fans a/k/a fair weather fans. It's very different going to a game now than it was a dozen years ago.

That was pretty horrible how they smeared his reputation. Maybe it will happen for him next year.
