Sorry for the crappy thread title What I mean though is quality restaurants with food from countries less talked about in terms of food in MA. For example there is like a million Italian places, but only one Burmese place (in Allston by the way).

For Peruvian food I love Rincon Limeno in East Boston. They have the best ceviche I've ever had.

Suvvai in Cambridge for Sri Lankan
Moldova Restaurant in Newton for Moldovan
Darbar in Allston for Pakistani
Ariana in Allston for Afghani
Pikliz in Somerville for Haitian-Jamaican fusion
Taranta in the North End for Peruvian-Italian fusion

The Boston area now has almost all cuisines represented. If you name a type of food you want to try, I'm pretty sure you can find somewhere serving it.

Yeah Ariana has excellent food, I like it better than the other Afghani place Helmand (even though they are solid either)

A few more I feel I should mention.

Ashur in Roxbury for Somali
Terranga in the South End for Sudanese
Suya Joint in Roxbury for Nigerian
Luanda in Brockton for Cape Verdean and Angolan
Karibu in Waltham for Ugandan
Fort Hill Jerk Chicken in Roxbury for real Jerk Chicken. Order out only (1 day in advance) as someone from Jamaica originally real Jerk cooked over the proper coal and pimento wood is an almost impossible find and there is a place in Boston.

While not that obscure in the US, German food is hard to find in the Boston area. I like the schnitzel and knockwurst at Jacob Wirth. The restaurant is somewhat Americanized, but the schnitzel, sauerkraut and wursts are legit as far as I can tell (from my 2 visits to Germany LOL).

Haha, oddly enough I just had German food in the Boston area yesterday. I haven't tried Jacob Wirth yet. Instead I went to Bronwyn in Somerville for the second time. I highly recommend that place Yesterday my main course was the hirsh schnitzel, which is made from venison and very delicious
