Hey,
Couldn't find any information that wasn't several years old so...

Thinking about buying a condo in Lynn. Diamond district area on Baltimore Street. Would be riding rail to Boston for work. I'm early 50's just me to be considered with. Tight condo budget. Like walkable areas, want to be able to get out for a drink/meal/go watch a game etc.

Thoughts/suggestions?

Thanks

I wish that the MBTA could get its **** together and build an on budget extension of the blue line out to Lynn/Salem. Besides the infrequent commuter rail that area is underserved by public transportation relative to its density.

I can deal with the commuter rail, Stoughton trains don't even run on weekends and trains always got delayed due to Amtrak owning the line.

FWIW, you could take a 5 minute drive to Canton Junction and catch the commuter rail there on the weekends. As I'm sure you know the schedule for commuter rail lines that do run on the weekends is absolutely atrocious, the Newbury/Rockport line is only marginally better than the Providence line in that regard. And while Keolis blames every delay on the Providence/Stoughton line on Amtrak, it's not like they run the other lines that much better.

5 minutes....not even close....especially during school season. Stoughton center to CJ, 15 minutes absolute minimum. Trust me I did it for 30 months, then there's the Catwalk, so forget about waiting in your car for the train. Also I watched many, many Amtrac trains pass us after we "pulled over" and waited for them to go by. The Lakeville line is a much better option....but....you are still l8ving in Stoughton/Randolph, forget about walking down the street to get dinner or a drink, which is what I'm looking for.

Commuter rail sucks, period. The excuses are different on each line but the experience is the same. The Middleboro/Lakeville line? Same ****. I have 2 friends who use it who ***** and moan about it all the time.

Hey Mike! Judging by the date of your post, I think I walked right in with a low-ball cash offer & snatched that condo right up! Diamond District is great!
