In the morning I take the commuter rail to Boston. The doors open at the same place every morning, so there is a line that forms for both doors. About 90% of the people respect this line, but there are two people that consistently jump to the front. Even to the point of shoving past people in their way.

Is there something I'm missing? Are the majority of us just stupid for keeping a line? Is there some reason the line cutters feel entitled to be first on the train? Is there anything I can do to make myself feel better about this? Or is it just destined to be my morning aggrivation.

And yes, before you chime in that this is a "first world problem", I understand that their are people in the world with worse problems and this isn't that important.

Could b cultural or simply bad manners. In some countries, line cutting is considered smart

They need to learn manners, regardless.

This happens to me all of the time on the rare occasion that I take the commuter rail. I have been cut in front of by many people when trying to board the train, as in I am about to step up on the first step and I get cut in front of. It does make you angry that there are people who think so little of others.
The same thoughts have gone through my head, but I was taught to respect the rules of order and wouldn't feel right if I cut in front of people to board the train, so I wait.
Instead of focusing on the small percentage of people who cut the line, focus on the majority of people who feel the same as you do and wait in line.
To distract yourself from this, can you listen to music or a podcast? Maybe chat with a fellow commuter? My podcasts helped me a ton when commuting on the train. Blocks out loud cellphone conversations as well!

Personally, I'd apply frontier justice but I'm a broad-shouldered 6'3" guy.

Default Re

It's rude they need to get in line. Ive noticed lines form on the redline platforms as well. Ive had 1 or 2 occasions in my life where i absolutely had to get on the train and i cut the lines otherwise thered have been no room for me and there was a delay. On the commuter rail there us room for eveyone to get on.

Just internally laugh at them, there's nothing really to be done. There was a guy like that at my commuter rail stop and even though it was annoying, I had to laugh at his undying passion for getting in the doors a few seconds earlier than he would have if he just stood in line. Every. single. day.

Don't use the T these days, but don't recall lines on subway. Just pile on IMO. Not a big deal.

I pick my wife up regularly at the commuter rail station in the evening. I see people that come off the train at a full run trying to get to their cars before everyone else. I've seen cars remote started while the owners are still on the train and cars moving before the passenger has their butt in the seat. Then they sit in traffic on the road that lot is on.
