Most prisons are designed to keep the prisoners from leaving.

Concord has a prison too, and it has pretty pricey real estate.

If you search on the forum, you'll see we've debated the prison in Walpole quite a bit. Some people think it's a non-factor. My stance has always been that while it's probably perfectly safe to live right next door to the prison that it's presence still depresses real estate values in the town to a degree.
