No wonder everyone I know chooses to live in VT instead, even if they work in NH.

The issue is less about the tax rate than what that rate is applied to.
If it's the true agricultural value of marijuana then fine... tax it hard.

$5.00 per pound to the farmer to grow it.
$5.00 per pound to the packer to dry, clean and bag it.
$5.00 per pound to the distributor to get it to the stores.
$1.00 per pound to the LOCAL authorities to monitor all that.

That's a grand total of $16.00 per pound or (ready for it?) $1.00 per ounce.
Put a 1000% tax on top of that and your still at just $10.00 per ounce retail.

Unlimited unrestricted guns aren't healthy for anyone (we're not talking about shooting sports and hunting weapons, no one is proposing restricting those, upland game bird and trap is awesome, but a non issue...)

Or denying LTCs to people with squeaky clean records, without cause. Happens all the time in MA. NH is also a "stand your ground" state. And oh, NH is statistically safer than MA.


But it's not just firearms laws. Fireworks, hunting seasons, laws governing ATVs, to name a few. NH is just a more laid back, common sense reliant kind of state. MA is the big brother, land of "we know what's best for you".
