Whitman bans pot shops, cultivators in special election - News - The Enterprise, Brockton, MA - Brockton, MA

Any tax revenue from local marijuana businesses is not worth turning your community into a 'What Trump said' type of community.
Keep Banning people! Keep banning the dope

And Whitman residents will just go to the next town over to buy Pot. Do we really need a thread for every town that votes on possible marijuana shops? Or will WROR make about 100 threads just to reiterate his crazy views on Marijuana.

What, 47-49%? of Massachusetts people voted NO to legalize Marijuana in Mass.
That is about over 3 million MA residents that are very interested in marijuana threads and MA residents looking to relocate to another MA community.

I support Massachusetts in taking a step against the sham of prohibition.

Localities ought to be able to choose whether to allow cannabis-related business in their jurisdictions. However, if they choose not to, they should not share in any of the revenue generated.

No taxation without representation.

I know there were people that voted no to Marijuana legalization. But they don't keep posting about how every town that bans it is going to improve, and that every town that allows it is going to be the ghetto. In every town it'll be illegal to smoke marijuana in public (just like it's illegal to drink in public). In every town it'll be legal to smoke on private property or in your home (even towns that ban pot shops).

Brockton is going to allow pot shops, so in the case of Whitman residents who want marijuana will just drive a few miles to Brockton. It'll have little to no affect on usage.

It's like what would happen if you ban liquor stores. If a town bans liquor stores then the residents will just go to the next town over to get booze. It won't stop people from drinking.

I admit I am not very familiar with the towns south of Boston. Isn't there some distance between Brockton and Whitman?
