Am fulfilling a dream and moving to the USA...really like to look of the south shore like Hull, Cohasset, Scituate and Hingham?but am so confused...the stats on schools, crime real estate are great, but which town has the friendliest feel? We'll be new to not only beautiful Boston but to the USA..any advise would be very welcome?

You'll do well in any of those towns. Hull is 7 miles long and the beach runs up the eastern coast. It has homes close together (with smaller yards), some nice restaurants, good park & rec/sports program, and a lot of family activities. My husband grew up there and we still have many friends that live there with their young families - they love it. It is very congested in the summer but many love the fact they can walk to everything, including the beach in 5-10 minutes. There is one little grocery store and some cute shops. Hull, Cohasset & Scituate are pretty far from the highway - it takes quite a while to get anywhere from those towns so it will depend on if you need to commute anywhere whether those would work for you. Hingham & Cohasset definitely are more affluent towns and the atmosphere can reflect that. I've gone to church in Hingham for the past 10 years & I live in Hanover. I've always felt that the people I came in contact with were very nice but I have friends who have kids in the school system in Hingham and they said many of the kids are very pampered (a lot get Tiffany jewelry, new cars, etc. at a very young age) and if you are not in that league financially it can be somewhat difficult. Both of those towns are very beautiful though and I would choose Hingham out of the two for convenience and amenities. Scituate is beautiful too with a couple of nice beaches and a beautiful harbor.

hi, I live in Marshfield which is a bit farther south of Scituate. We have several nice beaches and are close to the highway. We have been pleased with the schools. My husband commutes to Boston to work. He has taken the commuter boat out of hingham and now can take the commuter rail out of Scituate. We have been very happy here, people are friendly. good luck.
