Does anybody know of any good places in MA where I can take some blacksmithing/knife making or self sufficiency classes in MA. I am having no luck with Google.

I think OP might have better luck searching around southern Maine. The major survival skills in eastern MA seem to be finding a parking space and living through a commute on Route 3.

OP, you should check out the catalog for Tower Hill Botanic Garden. They offered a class in making a stone fence recently and some of the gardening and grower related classes might be of interest.

There are quite a few smiths in my neck of the woods (western MA). I was talking to one at the Festival of the Hills in Conway just yesterday (and bought a couple very nice wrought iron hooks for hanging a Civil War sword we happen to have inherited). If you are serious you might consider apprenticing. If you are just wanting to check out classes I would contact historic sites near you like Sturbridge. Historic Deerfield is another that has classes in various colonial arts like that.

Sadly, this is so true. Lose power for 10 minutes and people here go bat**** crazy and complain on FB.
