Did you pop over for a draft too? Sometimes they have drafts that they don’t have canned (particularly some of the stouts) and it’s worth trying.

I would also say you did it right. Going on a weekday and popping into the queue early is the easiest, most civilized way to do it. Obviously if you can only go on a weekend the line is longer but they know how to manage it. Great place.

Wanted to but I was visiting vendors so I couldn't spend much time there.

Briefly toyed with going out there today because my husband saw that they had double shot marshmallow stout on tap. That is one of my favorite beers ever. But we didn't. Had they had it in bottles or cans, though, we would have made the trek.

I saw that too and wanted to try it. I'll need to head that way again soon for work so I'll try to plan it better to go in and sit down for a few and try what they had in tap.

My current favorites are Medusa, Jack's Abbey (more specifically the Springdale tap room), Nightshift, and Trillium. I haven't been to Treehouse yet. I love Bone Up in Everett because the atmosphere and people are the best and totally unpretentious (lots of love to owners Jared and Liz) but the beer just isn't *quite* there yet. I go to Medusa most frequently because they have great Belgian style beers and despite being really high quality, it's in Hudson so it's not jam packed every night of the week like Night Shift. I can go to trivia without aiming to get there an hour and a half early to snag a seat.

It's amazing how many new places are opening up. Even out here in Marlborough, we have 3 taprooms that have either opened recently or are opening soon.

There are tons of places opening on the North Shore. Beverly has 4 opening this year, for a total of 5 (kind of surprising as I think Salem has 3). Essex County Brewing in Peabody opened a month or so ago. Ipswich has two with Ipswich Ale and True North. Too bad I don't like beer.

How about cider? Far from the Tree in Salem is worth checking out.

Even Cider is too bitter for me, at least the ones I have tried. I have an extreme sensitivity to bitter. Seriously, Natty Light is too bitter.

If you have any cider suggestions, I would welcome them. The Meadery in Ipswich, however, is on my places to try.

I have liked the Down East Cider -- but only the original blend. Not any of the seasonals, which for some reason often are bitter. The original one, though, I have not found bitter at all.
