I don't have all the details but what do you all think of the tax hike that Marty's been talking about? He's saying it will decrease traffic. I'm not sure how...people will still need to get where they're going. Do you think he means that it'll be more expensive so people will opt to walk/bike/take the T?

It will be so nominal it won't make a difference. Maybe a few more shared rides (great way to meet people BTW).

Uber really isn't a bad dating app.

It annoys me that so many people use these as their only means of transport when they can walk 2 minutes to public transportation. maybe marty should make an announcement on how he will fix the T so good that people would want that option over Uber..... Oh wait. that takes work.

Correct me if i'm wrong, but won't the tax then go to taxi companies? Improved technology like smartphone apps and driver training is what they've suggested?

Seems wrong to subsidize the competitor. Who lobbied for this tax?

Yeah it doesn't make any sense to me. I walk by that apartment building "the Continuum" in lower Allston every day. In the mornings there are always several people out waiting for Ubers or Lyfts, or cars slowly creeping by with hazards on. The amount of money wasted there must be incredible.

You can actually use your tax free commuter card provided by your company with uber pool. Pretty interesting this enormous company needs federal handouts.

Tax free? Don't you mean pre tax? That's what mine is.

Imagine these people were forced to interact with others in real life.. or should I say IRL.
Let's move to a city for a cozy tech job and cool food Instagram pics.
Let's make sure to interact with nobody outside of our comfort zone.
