For the average john, it might be just not knowing that this stuff happens and just being happy with the low price. But for Kraft and similar men? I just don't see it. I do feel like he knows better.

Wait and see what else comes out I suppose though.

I studied this in college, too.

My professor? The Myra and Robert Kraft Professor. A named chair donated by the Krafts whose research was funded thanks to Myra's deep interest in preventing human trafficking.

Yeah, Robert had no idea. Poor innocent senile old man. How could he have know?

Just wondering Casey, as a mod, why was a similar thread closed in current events, and allowed to go on here?

Burn! Not really - common numbers from a number of organizations, both activist and non-activist, commonly place the percentage closer to 20-30%. Forgive me if I trust an array of orgs over the single opinion of an undergrad student. It's extremely difficult to prove coercion and, depending on how a given research group defines coercion, the percentage can vary significantly. Trafficked workers may not be the majority in U.S. sex work (as whole), but these percentages included the 'industry' as a whole including more transparent sex work.

It's a bit like arguing reconstruction-era black sharecroppers were happily plodding away at will - not so much. It was slavery by another name. Woman may enter the profession by choice (financial needs or other), however, as soon as handlers manipulate their situation to create a financial, housing, or other dependence, they effectively become enslaved.

They're not slaves. They're indentured servants!

Now that is some dark irony.

Myra Kraft was always very concerned about the players who were hired to play for the Patriots. She didn't want anyone signed who was of bad moral character.

Love that they misspelled the name of the university in the URL. :P

Here's a slightly more involved article: https://www.bostonglobe.com/metro/20...xKO/story.html

I am a feeling in the back of my mind that somehow this might actually much bigger with the media is saying.

1) two billionaires were found on this list of a hundred seal guys. In all due respect if you have a billion dollars the actions that you do on a daily basis are going to be more scrutinized than what the average person would be doing. Since he went to this multiple times this wasn't an accident.

2) back in 2011 Robert Kraft was working with Steve Wynn to create a casino at Foxboro. When is in trouble deeply for sexual harassment he had to step down from his own company and they had to rename the casino in Boston. Recently it came out through report Nevada that the company did know the company had to pay a record fine of 20 million dollars. Again another billionaire thinking that they have some right to do something against the group of people

3) both have connections or at least friendships with Trump.

4) it sounds like it's coming out that Trump may have had the third casino in ct blocked as they won the rights over him in the early 1990s. Given everything Cohen said today would Trump somehow squash a FBI investigation into the ring and people on it. This is over 100 guys

I feel like I'm watching House of Cards
