Nothing average about it - there are just alot of really smart kids in the class, many with Ivy educated parents.
You would have a lot more credibility talking about schools if you didn't spell "a lot" incorrectly in every single one of your posts.

Sociopaths and kids posing as adults. It's too bad there isn't age verification on here. Would clean up the dirt. Ignore function helps, but they bring the quality of the discourse down.

To be fair, English grammar is often pretty dumb. For example, “alot” may not be a real word but “awhile” is.

I should have attended those amazing Arlington schools.

Somerville will never the feature city of an article from Better Homes and Gardens", although the sections around Porter/Davis Squares, and Tufts University are pretty nice. Other sections of Somerville are just lined with monotonous triple-deckers, and pretty unappealing ( to me, anyway). But to think that the 2nd floor of a 3-decker might go for 800K+ is just unfathomable to me, and represents everything that's wrong with Boston real estate. To think that's all you're getting , for such an extraordinary amount of money...

Well, it's all about location, and well, Somerville is a really ideal location to live for a high QOL.

Priced me out, eventually, after a good 10 year run through Davis/Porter/whatever Highland near the HS is/Union/East apartments. But it was a GREEEAAAAT place to live.

Why the hell didn't you buy a place if you loved somerville so much? Prices were really cheap there 10 years ago. You would have been 35 10 years ago which is prime buying age.

It is really dumb, but there's just so much irony in: "there are just alot of really smart kids in the class."

The best in Eastern MA if you ask me, though I actually liked it more 7-8 years ago when the Davis/Porter area has a more bohemian vibe, more musicians, artists, etc. They are still here but getting displaced fast.

When he said there were a lot of smart kids in the class he was referring to the Lexington class which his kid is not in.

His kid is performing 10% higher than the average kid in Lexington. He's probably performing well above the average for slumerville.

Perhaps if the kid was in an environment with smarter children overall (Lexington) the kid would have more motivation to do better. Maybe he could be 30% higher than the average in lexington? There is a ceiling to your motivation level when you are in slumerville.
