Hello,

I am moving the Boston area in a few weeks and I wanted to know how feasible is it to live in Revere without a car. I am coming from NYC so I am used to walking, but then again everything is very accessible here. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. We are currently looking for places in Revere near the water.

It can be done. The Blue Line runs close to the water and can take you directly into Downtown Boston and Logan Airport. There are also several bus lines (#119, #411, #441/#442, etc) that also serve Revere's coastal neighborhoods and some of these can take you to local shopping centers.

There is adequate number of bus routes and blue line access, so it's doable.

Walking to everything, however, may prove to be difficult as the area near the water is mostly residential with a few commercial offerings scattered here and there.

My son lived in Malden within a few hundred yard walk to the T. He worked downtown Copley Plaza and did not own a car. He later moved to Revere (high rise on the beach) and he said Revere was more convenient.
