It depends on from where in HP and where in WR to where DT, but it can easily be 45 min. from HP and 1 H from WR. Pretty pathetic either way, considering it's a 46 sq. mile city.

Agreed, but people were also making it sound like you'd just roll out of bed and onto the commuter rail in PVD. Just trying to make it more apples to apples.

At Station Row you do roll out of bed and onto the CR

Right, which is why we should be quoting the best times if we're looking at West Roxbury, Hyde Park, or any other neighborhood into South Station...

That apples and oranges. Were taalking about one specific location in Providence. Station Row-where people live. Station Row and its prices and location.

I'm referencing exactly where I lived in HP and Dorchester. Im showing that you can live just as far (timewise) from downtown Boston -in Boston- that at Station Row.

Duh if you live at Andrew Station youre going to be in Dowtown pretty fast. Thats not what im talking about. Even if it was the reality is that not where most people live and certainly not for 2k/month

By Commuter Rail, 27 minutes from West Roxbury (in the same 46 sq. mile city) to S Station, vs. 1 h 7 m from Providence (another city in another state 40+ miles away). Baltimore to D. C. is 45 minutes. See a pattern here?

Well, yeah. Boston needs to dramatically upgrade commuter rail to deal with the housing affordability issue. All those 1 hour train rides should be 30 minutes.

It takes me roughly a half hour from Roslindale via 1 bus and Orange Line to back Bay. I am lucky enough to live closer to Washington St. But I can also putz around and get food and drinks etc. not having to catch a commuter rail that runs every 2 hours?
