I live 25 miles North of Boston. Got on 93S this morning at 7am and didnt get to Boston until 8:30am.

Traffic moved all the way down to Medford then bumper to bumper. As soon as I passed the Medford exits and approached Charlestown, all cleared.

What is going on that all this traffic is entering and exiting at Medford? What a f*****g mess!

People parking at Wellington??? Surprised traffic was clear the rest of the way, that makes no sense whatsoever.

I view this as a fairly simple root cause--loss of the right lane (Leverett Connector) and the left lane (HOV; although temporarily open to all). So you have through-traffic basically forced into 2 lanes which is ridiculous for that volume.

Yeah it's usually bumper to bumper all the way through the tunnel so I'd call that a good day.

This is true. And it's happened to me even late morning (~11 am) on my way to Logan!

People love to be contrarian on here, but I don't think you'll get any sane dissent on the notion that commuting from locations north of Boston on I-93, is just a mess.

I on high on the north shore and take I-95->Rte 1-> Charlestown to get into Kendall Square, 38 miles. It's bad, but my few forays on I-93 have convinced me that the I-93 route is worse.
