No capacity restrictions at the Garden or Fenway starting May 29. Could be pretty wild in there if the Bruins and Celtics can stick around for a bit.

A cluster in Oklahoma, India variant. 3 of the 17 cases fully vaccinated with Moderna, 2 partially vaccinated at time of disease outbreak. All symptomatic; as of 3 days ago, no one hospitalized yet. https://www.koco.com/article/health-...ahoma/36433995
Unfortunately nowhere near as much information as about the Singapore airport cluster.
And then there is this interesting twitter thread by a Massachusetts professor doing asymptomatic workplace PCR testing and finding that the majority of infected are vaccinated, apparently with virus levels that should be high enough to transmit. https://twitter.com/ErinBromage/stat...39640458469376
All of this to say (yet again): How wise is it to drop all precautions, other than vaccinations, in a country where, according to the nytimes, 37% of the population is fully vaccinated?

I am pretty surprised that stadiums will be able to be at full capacity in about a week, no masks.

The big E apparently is happening now. How we go from 250 people outside to tens of thousands seems to be a big increase

The last week is always the most people. When I first was on here I mentioned Pax east was cancelled. that's about 80K people.

Think of all the sporting events, conventions, trade shows (remember them?) happening again. Do the hotels and airlines even have enough people?

We're in for a crazy summer. If people can't travel to that many countries yet but everything is open at full capacity..

I received an email from the assisted living residence where a relative is living. The previous message was that there was a case of COVID. Now (I don't know if it's due to the case of COVID or the gov't announcement) they are going to require all workers, residents, families, and visitors to be vaccinated.

I say GOOD! It's hard to imagine people working with the elderly and not being vaccinated. Guess they'll be fired if they won't get vaccinated. I'm glad I got this email because I was going to visit my relative but now I'll wait. I've been worried that they might be letting unvaccinated visitors in. Apparently there are even residents who aren't vaccinated! How crazy can that be at their age.

I'd rather be a sheep who follows science and data, vs. a lemming who latches on to demagogic falsehoods and leads other lemmings off the cliff. Happened far too often in the past year, and we've had nearly 600K deaths. So those who want to remain extra cautious, so be it.

I concur. I rather use facts logic science and reason to be the basis of my habitual actions rather than some arbitrary demagogue that acts as if he is the way. I saw my parents for the first time since Christmas a week ago. I'm fully vaccinated as they are and my brother had his first shot.

It's funny when people start to look at the death rate and try to justify some low rate on an average pretending as if that's the real risk. That might be a general risk with nobody is an average. Once you start looking at preexisting conditions diabetes and heart diseases and Cancers and autoimmune disorders that does begin to add up. And even if people have and recover it's still not the same often times for months.
