I saw Mayor Walsh in a cover photo on Boston Globe's website this morning wearing a mask. I can't find that pic now, else I'd link to it.

If he dies I think there could be real trouble.

Today's numbers in MA were not great. 1300 odd tested positive and I think 25 deaths.

Finally know someone touched by this..

not actually someone I know but someone I know of who is in his 20s apparently infected his father who was 72 who just passed away.

Incredibly tragic for that kid. I am not sure if the dad had any preexisting conditions but to be the one who inadvertently killed your dad.

Today's USA numbers of positive tests seems to be trending in a good state. Probably under 30K new cases. That is another lower number.

Massachusetts is probably one of the easier places to get tested, and it's still pretty tough to get tested here unless you are sick.

I do hope we start to see a plateau of new diagnoses soon given that many of us have been self isolating and social distancing for 3 weeks or more. The big fear for many doctors I know are people who traveled after that period of time - spring breakers, people from NYC or even Boston heading to ruraler areas, snowbirds who came home early, etc.

Hospitalizations and deaths lag. Look at Boris Johnson - he tested positive a week and a half ago, was admitted on Sunday, and moved to the ICU today. That's the tricky thing with this one. People who get sick seem to get really sick 8-10 days after diagnosis, which in of itself could be 4-14 days after exposure.

Why? Thousands have died. No one was prepared for this. I hope he doesn’t die of course but there shouldn’t be real trouble just because a person in power dies from this.

I don't know about "trouble" (meaning...?) but maybe he'd be like Rock Hudson was for AIDS- a face that everyone knows that has the illness.
