I think someone should put together the quarantine index, which counts the excess divorces and add it to the excess babies. My prediction is that there will be detectable effect but it will be small.

My college friend knew for a fact he was Blizzard of '78 baby, so I look forward to all the kids in 13 or 14 years who realize they are "quarenteens".

Probably, but it will be interesting. The Big E pulls most of it’s visitors from MA, whereas the marathon is bringing people in from all over the world and concentrating them in the urban core. The events are very different in that way.

All relative really. I grew up in a family of 5 with 1500sf and 1 bathroom between us all.

We aren't even using the 600sf in the basement right now. Room to expand into as the kids get older.

And they will all be the first child in their family.

We'll be fortunate if we get to do anything for fun this year.

You mean the suspiciously full-grown babies who are "early." Oops?

If you didn't know, MA is now reporting deaths per nursing home. There's several where there's been above 50 each. I think I saw two that lost half their population (so far). Nursing homes don't have the greatest reputation, and this certainly isn't going to help.

I guess it depends on what you consider fun. I obviously would prefer that things were completely normal, but we're trying to find silver linings and make lemonade.

We always lament how full our summers get and how by late May/early June we're booked up through Labor Day between weddings, family events, parties, etc. This year, we've had 3 weddings canceled. The Memorial Day and 4th of July parties we're normally obligated to go to are canceled as well, as are a few other events. So our schedule is wide open and we intend to do the hiking, have the beach days, and spend the weekend at the lake that we always wanted to, but never have time to do.

Again, I'd rather things be normal, but we're at least planning to make the best of it, and the silver lining is that we may get to do some things (or more of some things) that we otherwise wouldn't have been able to do.

I mean parents don't have an ounce of privacy right now.

I have a connection that works for the nonprofit that runs the grounds. The Big E is actually the fairgrounds itself but the Big E fair is the actual 3 week long event. There are events that led to what happened throughout the year for that by far is the largest.

As recently as a few days ago I received an email about the band lineups that are being planned. I have no idea how they will plan to have social distancing.

In Connecticut the casinos are slated to open up June 1st although they don't plan for any music events or any buffets and supposedly are only going to allow people inside from Rhode Island and Connecticut.
