Presumably the National Guard would be responsible for distributing food.

The Natick Mall is now closed. The only stores open now is Wegmans and a couple of the restaurants that have an outside entrance for takeout (and oddly Nordstrom's curbside pickup)

Before I think the Food Court and any food vendors in the common area were still open.

South shore plaza is closed too. All Simon malls.

Sounds like there’s a shelter in place Sunday at midnight

Was just told tonight my company is considered essential due to our involvement with life sciences and the possible scale up of electronics for ventilators. In fact, we had some meetings today regarding possibly building essential supplies.

No talk about needed credentials yet though. My badge isn't one a police officer would look at and go "yup, you are critical".

Really does feel like a scale-up to a war.

SOme good ideas floating around on 3D printing masks and using replaceable media.

If you still want to work or may face a cut in pay if you stay home then I’m glad for you. I have no idea what your job is outside of what you mentioned.

Otherwise though...

It’s really troubling how some companies are really stretching the meaning of essential just to make sure they get every cent possible out of their employees even at a risk to their employee’s health.

With my job it makes sense. I work in healthcare, working with clients with disabilities. If people aren’t there 24 hours a day to take care of them things would get real bad, real quick.

But GameStop? Yeah I think people can live without videogames.

GameStop is likely going under if they close the stores, even temporarily. You can see why they are fighting it as there is little downside.

In a true Shelter in Place, you wouldn't legally be able to leave the house for any reason unless you were "essential". Obviously people will run out of food eventually so someone will have to distribute food.
